"This is a drug free zone environment"

This is a post you will not miss at the entrance of any hostel. The implication that it's a drug free zone is not an indication that students are not abusing drung.Where does the weed smoke come from in the evenings on hostel balconies? It is the unthinkable that is happening. The rules and the power of the hostel management cannot manage drug abuse by students in the hostels. Where does the Tusker bottle that fill the bin come from? Ash trays are all over hostel corridors yet it's a drug free zone environment. Again it's the unthinkable.

Drug and drug abuse will always be an issue whether inside or outside hostels and it's with pure intentions that parents come into realization that being in hostel doesn't keep you away from drug abuse if you want to abuse drugs you will still do that inside your hostel it's no secret but to what benefit? Who is loosing?;who is in danger! nobody else but young matter how strict the rules are whether church hostels or school hostels drug abuse will always find it's space of manipulation.

Hostels do not keep you away from drug and drug abuse but you do! Yourself, you keep yourself from the ugly stuff.
